19-Apr-2011 Bernina Express Tour, Switzerland

Had breakfast and took the first bus in the morning going to St Moritz train station.  The bus was full of skiers.  They got off at the second stop.  From the bus, we could see the beautiful mirror lake of St Moritz.

At the station, we went to SBB office to check if we could leave our luggage to them and possibly pick them up after 4 days at Zurich airport.  We were relieved that we're able to do it (in just CHF10 per luggage).  Problem solved!  This way, we didn't have to carry everything all the way to Italy.  We handed over 2 big luggage with mostly dirty clothes in it and souvenirs.  We bought a ticket from Tirano to Milan and off we go.

We're trying to figure out where to go.  We nearly missed the Bernina Express, as we're initially waiting at the wrong platform.  Luckily, Mon walked around and discovered that there's another platform where we're supposed to wait.  We were just in time when Mon found it.

Bernina Express tour is a ‘must see’ if you’re taking a train tour at Switzerland.  It's a half day tour from Chur to Tirano, travelling across 196 bridges and through 55 tunnels (at the time of writing); and climb the mountains were glaciers lie.  We actually thought that we found more glaciers through this tour than the Glacier Express tour that we just had.

Must be thinking what awaits us in Italy....

Route:  ST Moritz - Celerina Staz - Punt Muragi Staz - Pontresina - Surovas - Morteratsch - Bernina Suot - Bernina Diavolezza -  Bernina Lagalb - Ozpizio Bernina - Alp Grum - Cavaglia - Cadera - Privilasco - Poschiavo - Li Curt - Le Prese - Miralago - Brusio - Compascio - Compocologno - TIRANO

We went out of Switzerland, without confirmed itinerary yet for the next few days... We'll see how it goes :-)
